William D. McGrath, attorney in Marshall, is licensed in Illinois and Federal Courts (1982). He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law and has practiced in dozens of Illinois counties handling civil and criminal cases and has argued in the Illinois and Seventh Circuit (Federal) appellate courts.
He is interested in giving back to his community and this is exemplified by his devotion to The Haven (formerly Mattoon Area PADS), a homeless shelter in Mattoon, Illinois, where he serves on the Board and as a volunteer. He has served as the Vice President and Treasurer, lending his professional training and skills to help this charitable organization that helps hundreds of people in need every year. He also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity in Coles County and has been active in community organizations for many years.
He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and past member of the Champaign County Bar Association and Coles-Cumberland County Bar Association. A proud and effective Public Defender, he has membership with the Illinois Public Defender Association. His business is a member of the Marshall, Illinois Chamber of Commerce.
